Electronic Prescriptions

In accordance with RCW 69.41.055 - All electronic sending, receiving and intermediary Prescription communication systems must be approved by the Board.

The following 3 charts list communication systems approved to send, receive or provide a gateway for the transmission of prescription information.

To request a review of an electronic prescription system for Board approval, please complete the appropriate review sheet for a pharmacy system or an intermediary and provider sending system and submit to the Board with supporting policies and procedures. Vendors whose electronic prescription systems complete the preliminary review/approval process may be asked to demonstrate the system at a business meeting of the Washington State Pharmacy Board.
