Health Professions Application Status

Urgent information:

Applications are processed in the order they are received.

We are now beginning the review process for applications with checks or money orders clearing on or before the date of:

October 16, 2009

If your check or money order cleared after the above date, please do not contact us for an update. Your application may not have been entered into our system and we will not have information yet.

If your check cleared on or before the above date, we may have a status update. You can also check the pending status on our Provider/Credential Search. If your application is incomplete, you will receive a letter.

General application processing time is four-to-six weeks. Out-of-state applicants may be required to complete a finger-print background check. This will add to the processing time.

This processing time is the period from when the department receives the application to issuance of the credential. Processing time varies for each individual application.

Delays may occur if:

  • There is a “yes” answer on your personal data questions.

  • There is a criminal history found in the background check.

  • The department does not receive the required documentation.

  • Documentation is inaccurate.

  • You are foreign trained or applying for an interstate endorsement. There may be a delay in receiving documentation from the other countries or states.

  • You are waiting to take or get results from an examination.

  • The wrong fee amount was sent.

Note: Facilities and organizations will take longer due to the scheduling of an inspection and waiting for inspection results.
