Flu Season 2011-2012 Supply and Distribution
The Department of Health purchases and distributes seasonal flu vaccine for
kids aged 6 months through 18 years in Washington State. This page contains
seasonal flu vaccine supply updates and information.
- November 7, 2011
- Washington’s thirteenth and final shipment allocation for
the 2011-2012 flu season is available.
- The total shipment allocation includes 17,110 doses of the
MedImmune FluMist nasal sprayer presentation.
- Local health jurisdiction (LHJ) staff should update the
“shipment 13 allocation” line on the tracking spreadsheet to

- Washington’s second shipment allocation for the 2011-2012
flu season is available.
- The total shipment allocation includes 15,170 doses of the
Fluzone 0.25mL, pediatric presentation and 136,910 doses of the
Fluzone 5.0mL, multi-dose presentation.
- LHJ staff should update the
“shipment 2 allocation” line on the tracking spreadsheet to
include the new LHJ allocation. If you have questions or need

- As always, if your LHJ will not use a particular
presentation or does not need the full amount of your
allocation, please let us know as soon as possible.

during the season. We'll work with you to accommodate your need
to the best of our ability.
o The state-supplied flu 2011-2012 order set must be selected
from the order set dropdown list to place flu vaccine orders
online. The presentations that are currently available have been
added to this order set. We'll continue to add other flu
presentations as they become available for ordering at McKesson.
- Flu vaccine orders may be submitted outside of a provider’s
assigned Economic Order Quantity schedule.

and

- FluMist nasal spray availability: The first allocation is
expected within the next week.

to be available in September.

- We're pleased to announce the earliest availability of
seasonal childhood flu vaccine on record for Washington’s
childhood vaccine program.
- This shipment allocation includes 20,830 doses of the 0.25mL
Fluzone Pediatric presentation. This allocation is now available
to order.
- To make sure we don't go over our flu vaccine
allocations, we're asking each LHJ to monitor
their allocations.
- An order and allocation tracking spreadsheet was distributed
to each LHJ. The spreadsheet allows you to track the number of
doses requested by and approved for each of your providers.
- If your LHJ will not use a particular presentation or does
not need the full amount of your allocation, please let us know
as soon as possible.
- We'll monitor the up-take of vaccines throughout the season
and seek opportunities to get more vaccine if necessary. Please
contact us if you need more flu vaccine any time during the
season, and we'll work with you to accommodate your need to the
best of our ability.
