What's New with the WIC Nutrition Program?Unless otherwise noted, all materials and forms on this page are in PDF format. WIC can’t replace lost checks starting March 1, 2012WIC will no longer replace lost WIC checks for clients starting March 1, 2012. We will continue to replace stolen or destroyed checks with a fire or police report. About 2,000 WIC checks are reported lost each year. 80% of those checks are cashed in addition to the replacement checks. To reduce program costs and save staff time, WIC will no longer replace lost checks. Clinic staff may choose to use these fliers to notify clients of this new policy.
Powder Similac Sensitive Spit-Up is Back in Stores: WIC Ready-to-Feed Policy is in EffectAs of January 1, 2012, when a client comes in for checks, staff must change Similac Sensitive Spit-Up ready-to-feed (RTF) formula back to powder. Issue RTF formula only to a client who has one of the reasons listed in policy. Refer to Volume 1, Chapter 23—WIC Foods (483KB), page 46.
