Bright Futures in Practice: Mental Health; Trainings for
Foster Parents Bright Futures Tools for
Nutrition and Physical Activity: Putting Them to Use
Although many kids in the foster care system have serious mental health problems, there are ways to promote their mental health to prevent those problems from occurring. "Bright Futures in Practice: Mental Health" is a reference guide that we can all use to help kids in the child welfare system. Originally developed for physicians, Bright Futures contains information and resources to help you navigate and understand your foster child's behavior and development. Although this course is NOT designed for foster parents who want answers on how to deal with a child who has severe mental health problems, it is recommended for those who want help in identifying how to keep them from happening in the first place. To see dates and locations, and to register, go to: http://www1.dshs.wa.gov/ca/fosterparents/index.asp 11th Annual Conference on Advancing
