Promoting an Enhanced and Brighter Future in Washington State
Early Childhood Care and Education ProgramsPurposeDetermine if Bright Futures principles and materials help to enhance outcomes of existing health promotion systems for children and their families enrolled in Washington State early childhood care and education programs. HowThe project will use Bright Futures (BF) as the core foundation to build on established health systems in selected programs representing Head Start, Early Head Start, Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP), and childcare. WhatExpected project outcomes are:
WhoProject Management: Washington State Department of Health - Office of Maternal and Child Health. Project Activity Coordination: Through an inter-agency contract with DOH, faculty at the University of Washington, Center on Human Development and Disability (UW-CHDD) will implement activities and contract with other state or national organizations as appropriate. Technical Assistance Workgroup will be established with member representation from various Washington State health and early childhood education agencies. FundingThis project is funded by a Congressional appropriation managed though the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families. |
