Maternal and Infant Health ServicesFirst Steps is a program that helps low income pregnant women obtain the health and social services they may need to have a successful pregnancy and parenting outcome. Washington State offers health care coverage for teens, pregnant women, and families with dependent children who meet medical assistance eligibility requirements. Women and men who do not meet medical assistance eligibility requirements may be eligible for low cost health care through the Basic Health Plan. For help locating prenatal care or a medical provider, Maternity Support Services, Infant Case Management, or a Childbirth Education provider call 1-800-322-2588. Maternal and Infant Health contracts with Within Reach to provide a toll free Family Health Hotline for consumer information, referral for maternity care, and other maternal and child health concerns call 1-800-322-2588. Visit their benefit finder to learn about eligibility guidelines for state benefit programs. Local health departments offer maternal and child services in your county. |
