Washington State Childhood Vaccine Program

The Washington State Childhood Vaccine Program provides vaccine to all kids less than 19 years of age in Washington. The program uses a combination of federal and state funds to purchase vaccines. State and local public health help providers enroll in the program, order vaccines, and meet program requirements.

Program Benefits

  • Keeps all kids protected against serious diseases.
  • Saves the healthcare system money.
  • Keeps things simple for healthcare providers and families.

Spring 2012 Provider Vaccine Selection

Starting on April 23, 2012, healthcare providers will complete the vaccine selection process. When a vaccine has more than one brand, clinics need to choose which brand they want. Look for more information by fax, e-mail, professional associations, and local health as we prepare for the vaccine selection process. We will use the Child Profile Immunization Registry for the process.

Please start to talk with decision makers in your clinic about which vaccine brands you prefer. The resources below may help you prepare for and complete the process. If you have questions, contact your local health department or the Department of Health at 1-866-397-0337 or oicp@doh.wa.gov.
