Adolescent Health
  Adolescent Needs Assessment Report
  Assessment developed to provide information to be used for planning efforts of the Washington State Partnership for Youth (WSPY).  The goal of the plan is to impact resources and services that support teens becoming healthy and successful.
     
  Healthy Youth Survey
  A collaborative effort of the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, the Department of Health, the Department of Social and Health Services' Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse, and Community Trade and Economic Development.  Provides information about students in grades 6, 8, 10, and concerning safety and violence; physical activity and diet; alcohol, tobacco and other drug use; and related risk and protective factors.

    Vital Statistics: Birth
    Information such as pregnancy history, parents' education, prenatal care, and birth weight.
     
  Perinatal Indicator Report, May 2009 (PDF, 88.4 KB)
     
  Pregnancy/Abortion
    Vital Statistics:  Pregnancy and Abortion
    Detailed information tables on pregnancies and induced abortions for the most recent complete calendar year.  Data is collected from abortion providers as well as Certificates of Live Birth and Certificates of Fetal Death.
     
  Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS)
  PRAMS is a joint research project between the Washington State Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  PRAMS is an ongoing mail/telephone survey of women who have recently given birth.  New mothers help by answering questions about their behaviors and experiences before, during, and shortly after pregnancy.  This helps us learn more about why some babies are born healthy and others not.
     
Birth Defects
  Birth Defects Surveillance System Status Report 1995-2004 (PDF, 237 KB)
  Data on the following reportable conditions is reported -- neural tube defects, oral clefts, hypospadias and epispadias, limb reduction defects, abdominal wall defects, downs syndrome, fetal alcohol syndrome, autism, and cerebral palsy.
     
Children With Special Health Care Needs
  Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Report 2005 (PDF, 704 KB)
  The Children with Special Health Care Needs Program serves children who have serious physical, behavioral, or emotional conditions that require health and related services beyond those required by children generally.  In Washington State, children who participate in this program must be under the age of 18 years at initial enrollment and have, or be at risk of developing, a serious or chronic condition.  Some children who are already part of the program may be able to continue services until the twenty-first birthday for purposes of transition to adult care.
