Training
The organizations listed below offer training. Before you sign up for
training to meet the professional growth requirement, be sure to confirm the
training is relevant and the sponsor is awarding CEU or college credit. Many
courses offer CEU or college credit and may be relevant for other
professions, but not for waterworks certification purposes.

CCS Scholarships Available: The
Pacific Northwest Section of the
American Water Works Association (PNWS-AWWA) Cross-Connection Control
Committee has training scholarships available. The scholarships cover costs
of training taken to obtain certification as a Department of Health
Cross-Connection Control Specialist (CCS).
Owners and employees of DOH approved public water systems are
eligible, if the water system meets the following conditions:
- Has 300 - 2500 active water service connections; and
- Does not have anyone employed by your water system that is
currently certified as a Cross Connection Control Specialist; and
- Has a direct permanent employee of the water system assigned to
actively administer the Cross Connection Control Program. This
employee may not be a contract operator.
- Has not received a scholarship from the PNWS-AWWA Cross
Connection Control Committee within the past three years.
The CCC committee will consider, on a case-by-case basis,
applications from public water systems whose CCSs will be leaving in the
