Water Recreation Facility Construction Permit

 

For new construction or modification of an existing Water Recreation Facility for the public (swimming pool, spa, wading pool, spray feature, water park, or water feature), you will need to obtain a permit. Who you get the permit application from depends upon which county the construction is occurring.

Clark, King, Pierce, Snohomish, or Spokane County

For facilities in Clark, King, Pierce, Snohomish, or Spokane County, you need to contact and get a permit application from their local health department.

All Other Counties

For all other Water Recreation Facilities outside the counties listed above, follow the instructions below. Note: If you plan to construct a Water Park or Water Feature, schedule a pre-design meeting with Gary Fraser before you develop your detailed plan.

 

Step 1:
Fee and Plan Submittal Forms (PDF 61KB) - Type in the information and save or print the forms before closing your browser. For more information on fees, see the Fee Policy
(PDF 61KB).

Step 2:
Print, sign, and mail the Fee Submittal Form with fee payment to:

Make check payable to: WA DOH Water Recreation

Step 3:
Print and mail the Plan Submittal Form with appropriate specifications and plan details to:

Note: This permit is not for single-family residential home pools. Contact your county or city building department to see what you need for building a pool at your home.
