Electronic Laboratory Reporting Status
Public Health
Reporting of Electronic Data (PHRED)
The
Department of Health continues to increase the number of
laboratories reporting through the Public Health Reporting of
Electronic Data (PHRED) system. Our goal is to provide public health
with 100% electronic reporting for all notifiable conditions. The
table below displays all laboratories currently reporting electronic
results through PHRED and their status.
Please note, PHRED does not meet the reporting requirement for
results that are immediately notifiable. Laboratories must continue
to fax or call those results into public health officials.

Validation- laboratories in “validation” status are reporting
electronically through PHRED and by paper or phone call. They are
essentially in a quality assurance phase and will continue to
participate in dual reporting until the process is complete and they are
formally approved for production status.
