Chemical Incident
The Chemical Terrorism Response Unit provides
testing services of human blood and urine specimens
for 20 heavy metals, cyanide, and volatile organic
chemicals (VOCs) in support of the Washington State
Emergency Preparedness and Response Program.
Services are provided ONLY to local, state and
federal health jurisdictions and law enforcement.
The unit uses state-of-the-art instrumentation and
methods to identify and quantitate exposure levels.
The selection of the testing varies according to the
origin of the specimen and the type of chemical
agent suspected or known to be involved.
