PUBLIC HEALTH IMPROVEMENT PARTNERSHIP - 5930 Performance Measures

Legislation from the 2007 session, E2SSB 5930, requires the Department of Health to develop performance measures linked to the provision of $20 million in new funding for public health at the local level. The measures must be developed by partner agencies of the Department of Health and adopted by the Secretary of Health in January, 2008. The process for developing the performance measures is to be completed as part of Public Health Improvement Plan activities and will take place during fall, 2007.

Materials related to the development of performance measures for E2SSB 5930 are contained in this webpage.  A related webpage covers a requirement by the same law to list the core functions of public health which are of statewide significance and to include the activities and services associated with those functions.

Priorities established during the legislative session are expected to guide development of the performance measures for the 2007-09 biennium. The top two priorities included addressing communicable disease and chronic disease. To view the law in its entirety, click here.
