Board of Pharmacy seeks public member to serve on its regulatory board
OLYMPIA ¾ The Department of Health is accepting applications to fill a public member opening with the Board of Pharmacy. Public members advocate for public interest and provide a consumer’s perspective to issues addressed by the board. Applicants must be willing to study the issues and commit to regularly attending and fully participating in meetings. Board member responsibilities include policy making, writing advisory opinions and rules, reviewing investigations and participating in disciplinary hearings and charging panels.
The mission of the Board of Pharmacy is to achieve the highest standards in the practice of pharmacy, to promote public health and safety and to effectively communicate with the governor, legislature, the Department of Health, the public and members of the profession.
The board meets for one to two days, approximately nine times per year. Members are paid $50 a day and are reimbursed for travel expenses.
The governor appoints members to the Board of Pharmacy. The Governor’s Office is seeking diversity in board members and recognizes the value diversity brings in understanding and serving the people of Washington. Applications are available on the Governor’s Web site (http://www.governor.wa.gov/actions/appointments/boards/application.doc). Please mail your application to the address listed on the application. If you have any questions, please email Doreen Beebe (doreen.beebe@doh.wa.gov). Only those applications received within 20 days of this notice may be considered for this recruitment.
