Stevens County counselor charged with sexual misconduct and suspended
OLYMPIA ¾ The Department of Health immediately suspended the license of mental health counselor Preston Carbary (LH00006880) on allegations of sexual misconduct. On September 7, 2005, Carbary was charged in Stevens County Superior Court with three counts of rape in the second degree. Carbary cannot practice as a counselor pending the outcome of a hearing.
Carbary contracted with the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) to provide mental health counseling. The charges allege Carbary abused and engaged in sexual contact with two female clients while providing counseling services. Carbary allegedly threatened to have their children taken away if they told DSHS. Carbary has 20 days to respond to the charges and must respond in 10 days to request a prompt hearing.
