Kennewick physician immediately suspended
OLYMPIA ¾ The Medical Commission has immediately suspended the license of Kennewick physician Alan Hunt (MD00023685). Allegations include failing to comply with prescribing restrictions against his license. Hunt may not practice as a physician pending the outcome of a hearing.
Hunt allegedly failed to comply with the restrictions against his license by writing a prescription for a controlled substance to a patient. On August 28, 2006, Hunt’s license was restricted from prescribing certain types of controlled substances to patients, pending the outcome of a hearing. The initial restriction resulted from allegations that his management of patients with pain was often below standard. Other allegations against Hunt include failing to document treatments and prescriptions and adequately monitor patients. Hunt also excessively prescribed medications in inappropriate combinations and failed to ensure he could be contacted by patients and other providers.
The legal documents associated to this case are available by calling 360-236-4700 or online by clicking the link to "Provider Credential Search" on the agency home page (www.doh.wa.gov/).
