Pelican Point Water Company announces boil water advisory for all of their customers
MOSES LAKE ¾ The Pelican Point Water Company is advising all water customers to boil their drinking water after recent samples showed the presence of E. coli. The service area is generally south of Goodrich Road between Potato Hill Road and Moses Lake. Pelican Point is working closely with the Department of Health’s Office of Drinking Water to find the source of contamination and fix the problem.
"We are doing all we can to eliminate the bacteria from the water system. Safe and reliable drinking water is critical to good health and responding to this kind of emergency is our highest priority," said Pelican Point Water Company owner Huck Goodrich.
Pelican Point disinfected the water system on Sunday and moved the disinfected water through the distribution system.
The boil water advisory includes several precautionary steps that customers should take. These include using purchased treated bottled water or boil water for drinking, brushing teeth, dishwashing, preparing food and making ice. Tap water should be boiled for 3-5 minutes, then allowed to cool before using.
The advisory will remain in effect until satisfactory water quality results are reported. Customers will be notified when the advisory is lifted.
If you have any questions, please call Pelican Point Water Company at (509) 765-3608.
