Point Roberts lifts boil water advisory

OLYMPIA ¾ The Point Roberts Water District is telling customers it is no longer necessary to boil their water. The boil water advisory was issued as a precaution a week ago due to high turbidity or "cloudy" water in the system.

The district has monitored water clarity since November 22 after adding water from the Greater Vancouver Regional District, which was also having problems maintaining water clarity. Vancouver lifted its boil water advisory yesterday.

Point Roberts has flushed its distribution system extensively to remove any partially treated water, assuring that water clarity and other public health standards are at acceptable levels.

No illnesses related to the community’s drinking water have been reported. For more information, contact the Point Roberts Water District, 360-945-4696.
