Marbello plat (outside Monroe) water customers advised to boil water
OLYMPIA ¾ The Marbello Water Company is advising its customers to boil their water after a water line break in the area allowed untreated water to enter the system. The break is related to construction in the Marbello plat community.
The boil water advisory affects about 100 homes north of Highway 2 near Monroe in the Marbello plat. City of Monroe customers are not affected by this advisory.
The boil water advisory includes several steps customers can take as a precaution. These steps include using boiled water or purchased bottled water for any water that might be consumed, such as drinking, brushing teeth, dishwashing, preparing food and making ice. Water should be boiled for three to five minutes and then allowed to cool before use.
Marbello water utility workers are working with the Department of Health to make repairs, flush the lines, verify chlorine levels in the system and take numerous bacteria samples.
There have been no illnesses reported that relate to this incident. The boil water advisory will remain in effect until the water meets safe drinking water standards.
For more information, please contact the Marbello Water Company’s Utility Manager, Sondra LeBaron, at 206-282-4200.
