Snohomish County EMT?s license suspended on child rape charges
OLYMPIA ? The professional license of a Snohomish County emergency medical technician (EMT) has been immediately suspended on allegations of sexual contact with a child.
The action, taken by the Washington State Department of Health, means that David Jonathan Wing (Certification No. 0109999) cannot practice or be employed as an EMT pending the outcome of a hearing.
The agency?s statement of charges alleges Wing had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old female. Criminal rape charges are pending in Snohomish County Superior Court. Wing was a volunteer firefighter and an "explorer advisor" in Snohomish County Fire District #4. He was terminated by the district on November 21, and the Department of Health was immediately notified. The statement of charges and summary order are available by calling Janet Kastl at 360-236-2832 or Sandra Dlugosz at 360-236-2831 of the Office of Emergency Medical Services and Trauma.
The office protects and promotes public health and safety in Washington by regulating the competency and quality of EMS personnel. It establishes, monitors and enforces qualifications for licensing, consistent standards of practice, continuing competency mechanisms and discipline.
