Boil water advisory ends in Snohomish community
OLYMPIA ¾ The Snohomish Public Utility District (PUD) ended a boil water advisory today for the 361 households served by the Kayak Estates water system near Stanwood. The water is safe to drink.
The utility issued the advisory as a precaution on Friday after the water system experienced a water pressure loss, a condition that can allow contaminants to enter water lines.
Utility staff members posted notifications at every home served by the water district. They disinfected the system and took water samples over the weekend to determine water quality. A second set of water samples was collected on Monday. Both sets of test results showed the water is safe to drink.
