Pierce County counselor suspended for sexual contact with a child
OLYMPIA ¾ The registered counselor credential of Jennifer L. Rice (RC00037816) has been immediately suspended on charges of kidnapping and having sexual intercourse with a child.
The state Department of Health charges say Rice admitted to having sexual intercourse with a 10-year old boy on at least five occasions and took the boy on a road trip without his parent’s permission. Rice is also the subject of a criminal investigation and was arrested in August by local police. She was a teacher at McKinley Elementary School in Pierce County.
This action means she cannot practice as a counselor pending further action by the department. Rice has 20 days to respond to the charges and has the right to request a prompt hearing or a settlement conference.
