License for Burien pharmacy technician suspended for diverting drugs
OLYMPIA — Alleged drug diversion has resulted in the immediate suspension of the operating license for Burien pharmacy and the pharmacy technician who also owns the business.
The licenses for Christina Wageman (VA00041929) and BC Drug were suspended by the Washington State Department of Health and Board of Pharmacy.
Wageman owns and works as a pharmacy technician at the drug store. She allegedly diverted large amounts of controlled substances from her inventory between January and August 2007. Wageman has admitted she diverted some of the drugs. Additionally, she was in the pharmacy without a licensed pharmacist present. Wageman has 20 days to respond to the charges and 10 days to request a prompt hearing.
The statement of charges and summary documents are available online by clicking the link to "Provider Credential Search" on the Department of Health home page (www.doh.wa.gov/) or by calling 360-236-4700. Anyone who believes a health care provider acted unprofessionally is encouraged to call that number to report their complaint.
The Board of Pharmacy is appointed by the governor and is charged with regulating pharmacies, pharmacists and technicians in Washington.
