OLYMPIA - A Spokane nursing assistant has had his license immediately suspended on allegations of sexual misconduct in an adult family home he operates.
The Washington State Department of Health and the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission has immediately suspended the license of Kirk A. Orr (NA00149620). Orr cannot practice or be employed as a nursing assistant, pending resolution of the charges.
An investigation showed Orr allegedly kissed a dependent elderly resident of the home on the lips and fondled her breasts as he was putting her to bed.
Orr has 20 days to respond to the charges and 10 days to request a prompt hearing. The legal documents associated with this case are available by calling 360-236-4700 or online by clicking the link to » Provider Credential Search» on the Department of Health home page (www.doh.wa.gov).
The Department of Health protects and promotes public health, safety and welfare in Washington by regulating the competency and quality of nursing assistants. The program establishes, monitors, and enforces qualifications for licensing, consistent standards of practice, continuing competency mechanisms and discipline. Rules, policies, and procedures developed by the commission promote the delivery of quality health care to people in Washington.
