Olympia acupuncturist suspended for sexual contact with a patient
OLYMPIA ¾ The license of acupuncturist Russell N. Wahlund (AC00000569) has been immediately suspended for inappropriately touching a female patient.
The Department of Health suspended Wahlund’s license and he cannot practice or be employed as an acupuncturist pending further action by the state.
The charges say that Wahlund touched a patient’s breasts and nipples for several minutes following an acupuncture session.
Wahlund has 10 days to request a prompt hearing and 20 days to respond to the charges. The documents related to this case are available online by clicking the link to Provider Credential Search on the Department of Health home page (www.doh.wa.gov) or by calling 360-236-4700.
The department protects and promotes public health, safety and welfare in Washington by regulating the competency and quality of acupuncture practitioners. Rules, policies and procedures developed by the secretary promote the delivery of quality health care to state residents.
