King County chiropractor suspended on charges of inability to practice

OLYMPIA – Extremely erratic behavior has resulted in the immediate license suspension of a King County chiropractor.

The license for Gary Palmer (CH00001984) was suspended by the Chiropractic Quality Assurance Commission and Department of Health following allegations of dangerous behavior that raised doubts about his ability to safely deliver quality care.

In August 2007, Palmer allegedly told a neighbor he had a bomb and made death threats. The next month, he allegedly called the sheriff’s department claiming he had a gun and wanted police to shoot him. Palmer also has a history of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Palmer has 20 days to respond to the charges and has the right to request a prompt hearing or a settlement conference.

Consumers who believe a health care provider acted unprofessionally are encouraged to call Health Professions Quality Assurance, 360-236-4700 to report their complaint.

The Chiropractic Quality Assurance Commission regulates chiropractors in Washington. The commission establishes, monitors, and enforces qualifications for licensing, consistent standards of practice, continuing competency mechanisms and discipline. Rules, policies and procedures promote the delivery of quality health care to state residents.
