Drug allegations result in suspension for Vashon Island nurse

OLYMPIA ¾  The license of a Vashon Island registered nurse has been immediately suspended on allegations of illegal drug use.

The Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission and the Department of Health immediately suspended the license of registered nurse Laura Lincoln (RN00150836). Lincoln cannot work as a nurse until the charges are resolved.

The commission alleges Lincoln diverted and stockpiled controlled substances and has forged prescriptions to obtain drugs.

Lincoln has 10 days to request a prompt hearing and 20 days to respond to the statement of charges. The charging documents are online; click “Provider Credential Search” on the Department of Health Web site (www.doh.wa.gov). The documents are also available by calling 360-236-4700.

The nursing commission protects public health and safety in Washington. The commission licenses and disciplines nurses using established standards of practice.
