OLYMPIA ¾ The credential of a Snohomish County registered counselor who was convicted of criminal assault has been immediately suspended by the Department of Health.
Charging documents say Damon Overby (RC00051332) has had three assault convictions since his credential was granted in December 2004. He failed to notify the department of these convictions as required.
Overby has 20 days to respond to the charges. He cannot practice as a counselor pending the outcome of a hearing.
Consumers who believe a health care provider acted unprofessionally are encouraged to call Health Systems Quality Assurance, 360-236-4700, to report their complaint.
Health Systems Quality Assurance regulates health care providers in Washington. The division monitors and enforces qualifications for licensing, registration or certification, consistent standards of practice, continuing competency mechanisms, and discipline. Rules, policies, and procedures promote the delivery of quality health care to state residents.
