Physician suspended: charges say she engaged in substance abuse

OLYMPIA - Allegations of substance abuse use have led the Medical Quality Assurance Commission to immediately suspend the medical license of physician Elizabeth Bennett (MD00033971), Issaquah.

The statement of charges alleges Bennett committed unprofessional conduct by abusing Dextromethorphan, a semi-synthetic opiate available in over-the counter cough suppressants. Bennett allegedly failed substance abuse monitoring and testing because of relapses.

Bennett cannot practice as a physician in Washington until the charges are resolved. She has 20 days to respond to the charges and to request a hearing.
