Benton County pharmacist’s credential suspended on drug diversion charges

OLYMPIA ¾ State health authorities have suspended the license of Benton County pharmacist Kenyon N. Lyle, Jr. (PHRM.PH.60018753). The Board of Pharmacy and the state Department of Health took the immediate action based on allegations he diverted controlled substances from his workplace. Lyle can’t practice or be employed as a pharmacist until the charges are resolved.

The statement of charges says that between about June and December 2009, Lyle diverted Oxycontin and Fentanyl patches from his workplace. He agreed to participate in the pharmacy board’s substance abuse monitoring program but allegedly didn’t comply with that agreement.

Lyle has 20 days to respond to the statement of charges.

Legal documents are available online by clicking the link to “Provider Credential Search” on the Department of Health home page (www.doh.wa.gov) or by calling 360-236-4700. Anyone who believes a health care provider acted unprofessionally is encouraged to call this number to report the complaint.

The Board of Pharmacy regulates pharmacists in Washington.
