Before being appointed Director of the Island County Health Department in
April 2008, Keith Higman served as
its Environmental Health Director since 1998
and has worked in the field of environmental health for over 11 years. He
has a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Washington University, Huxley College of
Environmental Studies and a Master in Public Health from the University of Washington, School of Public Health and Community
Medicine. Prior to entering the field of public health, he served as a
Research Ecologist for the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, and held a
variety of positions in the areas of natural resource management and water
quality.
Mr.
Higman resides on Whidbey Island with his wife and three children.
