Mary Selecky

Mary C. Selecky was appointed to the Board when she became Secretary of the Department of Health in March 1999. She had served the Board since October 1998 when she became acting Secretary. Ms. Selecky was the administrator of the Northeast Tri-County Health District in Colville from 1979 to 1999. Ms. Selecky has been a leader in improving public health and strengthening the infrastructure of state and local health jurisdictions. She has served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of City and County Health Officials and is a past president of the Washington State Association of Local Public Health Officials (WSALPHO). Ms. Selecky is a scholar of the Public Health Leadership Institute. Ms. Selecky resides in Olympia.
