Environmental
Justice was a Board priority project for 1999-2001. The work culminated
June 13, 2001 when the Board adopted the
Final
Report of the Committee on Environmental Justice. One
recommendation was a set of guidelines for government
agencies. The report called on staff to seek community input on the
guidelines and revise as necessary. The Board approved the
revised guidelines at its October 10, 2001 meeting.

As part of its
work, the Environmental Justice Committee worked with staff to develop Web resources for individuals, groups, and
agencies working on environmental justice issues. The Board has asked that
staff continue to maintain those resources on this site.
