Child Death Review Data Inform State and Local Efforts that Prevent Injury and Death

The Child Death Review process includes gathering information related to the child’s death that is not included in death certificates, traffic reports, hospital data or other data sources, including:

Was the child or family experiencing social stressors?
Was lack of supervision a factor in the child’s death?
Were community services provided or not provided?

These reports include Child Death Review data that help state and local leaders know where to focus efforts to prevent child injury and death.
