Family Planning Services

How Services are Provided

Family Planning and Reproductive Health (FPRH) contracts with local non-profit agencies and local county health departments to provide family planning and reproductive health care services for Washington State residents.

FPRH administers family planning grants, monitors compliance with state and federal regulations, works with related programs and acts as a clearinghouse for family planning information, training, consultation and technical assistance.


List of Family Planning Services

Services include but are not limited to:

  • Birth control education and counseling
  • Physical examinations for reproductive health
  • Emergency contraception
  • Most approved birth control methods
  • Natural family planning, fertility awareness
  • Sterilizations (tubal ligations & vasectomies)
  • Infertility services (includes initial infertility interview, education, physical examination, counseling, and appropriate referral)
  • Pregnancy testing and counseling
  • STD and vaginal infections, testing / treatment
  • HIV testing and counseling
  • Health promotion / disease prevention help
  • Cancer screening (breast, cervical, testicular)
