| The Assessment Unit supports the Sexually Transmitted Disease Services Program by providing epidemiologic expertise in analysis of Sexually Transmitted Disease morbidity. In close collaboration with Sexually Transmitted Disease Program staff, the Assessment Unit assists in routine monitoring of incidence for outbreaks and helps to plan responses to Sexually Transmitted Disease outbreaks around the state. Assessment Unit staff prepare the Annual STD Morbidity Report and run custom analyses of Sexually Transmitted Disease incidence for local public health jurisdictions and community partners addressing issues of current need in Sexually Transmitted Disease prevention. The Assessment Unit also provides leadership for special retrospective studies – such as investigating HIV and Sexually Transmitted Disease co-morbidity and evaluating Sexually Transmitted Disease system performance measurement. | |||
