WIC Retailer Training Information

Training sessions are designed to assure that WIC authorized retailers receive the information they need to be successful partners with the WIC Nutrition Program. These trainings focus on the changes coming to the WIC Nutrition Program on October 1, 2009 and include information about the new foods available to WIC customers, transacting the new fruit & vegetable checks and the new minimum stock levels.

In addition, trainings will provide retailers with an understanding of:

  • The purpose of the WIC Nutrition Program.
  • WIC authorized retailer responsibilities.
  • The procedures for transacting and handling WIC checks.
  • Complaints and resolving problems at the check stand.
  • Violations that can result from incorrect administration of program rules and regulations.

Attending one of these trainings will meet the contract requirement for interactive training.

We can also arrange a "Train the Trainer" session for your staff. Contact the Retailer Management Team by email or call us at 1-800-841-1410 ext. 3620 for more information.
