Learner Centered Nutrition In-Services
A Training Event for Nutritionists
The WIC nutritionist is required to provie nutrition in-services to paraprofessional CPA's (Competent Professional Authorities) each month. To ease workload for nutritionists, we have developed in-services to use with staff.
During this one day training, nutritionists will experience learner-centered education and practice using tools and techniques to present the in-services to staff. A packet of nutrition in-services will be distributed at the training. Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours will be available for Registered Dietitians.
All nutritionists are encouraged to attend this training at one of the following locations:
- Yakima — September 24
- Shoreline (North Seattle) — October 2
All travel arrangements are the responsibility of the trainee or local agency with the exception of air travel and rental cars. Air travel and reservations for rental cars must be arranged through the State WIC Office. DOH/WIC will not reimburse trainees or local agencies for air tickets or rental car expenses when the arrangements are made directly by local staff. If staff need a flight and/or rental car, please contact Kathy Hormel at 1-800-841-1410 ext 3627 at least two weeks before the training.
For more information about this training, please contact Sara Knight (ext 3664) or Sue Babl (ext 3732).
