Washington Asthma InitiativeThe Washington Asthma Initiative mobilizes individuals, communities, and organizations throughout Washington State to improve the prevention, diagnosis, and management of asthma in order to decrease its individual and societal burdens. The Washington Asthma Initiative (WAI) is a coalition of groups, health care providers, individuals, and government agencies from across the state. Members have a common mission to work to prevent asthma and improve diagnosis, treatment, education, and management. The Steering Committee is the decision making body. There are
several standing committees which focus on community
awareness, policy development, and quality of care. Special committees are
created when new issues, ideas, or projects develop.
