About Us

What is the Breast, Cervical and Colon Health Program?

This early detection program provides free breast, cervical, and colon cancer screening to low-income people in Washington State. Find out if you are eligible.

Early Detection is the Best Protection!

Early detection is the best way to prevent breast, cervical, and colon cancer. Low-income people are less likely to receive cancer screening, due to costs, so are more likely to find cancers at later stages. This program provides free access to screening and treatment services to help reduce deaths.

Who runs the program?

The Washington State Department of Health administers the program through grants and other funding support:

  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Breast and Cervical Cancer.
  • Washington State.
  • Susan G. Komen For the Cure® - Puget Sound, Eastern Washington and Portland/Southwest Washington Affiliates.

The department contracts with seven regional organizations throughout the state, known as Prime Contractors, who operate the programs within their local regions. Find a Prime Contractor in your area.
