Who are the Partners of the CSHCN Program?Program goals are carried out through partnerships within MCH, with other state agencies and organizations and through contracts with local health departments, private non-profit agencies, the University of Washington, hospitals and family organizations.
Hospital Partners
University PartnersThe CSHCN Program has contracts with the following programs within the Center on Human Development and Disability (CHDD) at the University of Washington (UW): Adolescent Health Transition Project The CSHCN Program also collaborates with several training programs through the UW, including a Pediatric Pulmonary Center Training Grant, and Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) Training. Local Health Jurisdiction PartnersLocal health departments contract with the CSHCN Program to provide activities that link children with special health care needs to appropriate programs and services. Through these local programs, families can receive information about medical coverage options and sources of financial support, including Social Security. Health departments collaborate with others in their communities to assure that coordinated systems of care are in place. In each county, a CSHCN Coordinator is designated to oversee these services.
