Disability and Health Program

The Washington State Disability and Health Program works to promote the health of people with disabilities through community activities, institutions, and public policy. 

The program is a partnership between the Department of Health, the University of Washington, and four communities in Spokane, Kitsap, Jefferson, and Grays Harbor Counties.

The goal of the Disability and Health Program is to prevent secondary health conditions among people with disabilities.  We do this by:

  • Collecting and distributing data about disability in Washington State.
  • Promoting the health and well-being of people with disabilities at the state level.
  • Supporting community efforts to improve the health and well-being of people with disabilities.
