Maternal and Infant HealthWhat does Maternal and Infant Health do?
Maternal and Infant Health accomplishes its work in four major areasAssessment activities enable health care professionals and community partners to understand the needs of women and infants by gathering data about characteristics of pregnant and postpartum women, services they use, and services that would be helpful. Maternal and Infant Health uses this data to plan programs, services, and develop policies to promote maternal and infant health. Best practice materials and other resources are available from Maternal and Infant Health for health care professionals. These materials cover a variety of topics to improve quality of care for women and infants.
