Abstinence Education

The goal of the Abstinence Education Program is to reduce pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases among youth and to increase each teen's chances for a healthy and successful future.

Abstinence education is teaching youth refusal skills — as well as the reasons why abstinence is a good choice. Currently, we are supporting the development of a statewide public awareness campaign that will target youth aged 10-14 years and parents.  The campaign may include public service announcements, television ads, radio ads, and other forms of media messages.  For additional information about the Abstinence Education program, please contact (360) 236-3515.
