Family Support Initiative

What is Family Support? More than a set of services, it is an approach that urges the entire community — policymakers, service providers, parents, employers, and neighbors — to take responsibility for improving the lives of children and families.

The Washington State Department of Health is actively engaged in the "Family Support Movement." The DOH is a member of Family Support America, the collaboration for Family Support, the Family Policy Council, and the Washington Council for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect.

The DOH promotes Family Support principles in our policies, partnerships, and funding.
