Washington State's Genetic Services

We work to: Photo of two sisters
· Improve the health of people with, or at risk of, genetic disease.
· Identify babies who have hearing-loss and help their parents get the resources they need.  This is known as the Early Hearing-loss Detection, Diagnosis and Intervention (EHDDI) Program.

· Helping families locate genetic counselors or pediatric audiologists (hearing doctor for children)
· Monitoring the quality of genetic and hearing services in Washington Photo of a grandma and her granddaughters
· Collecting data about genetics clinics and infant hearing screening
· Supporting Washington's genetics clinics and counselors
· Providing educational opportunities for genetic counselors and health care providers
