The goal of the Supplemental
Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) is to encourage
people to choose healthy foods and active lifestyles consistent
with the current Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the My
Pyramid Food Guidance System.
SNAP-Ed, formerly BFNEP, is targeted to people who receive, or
eligible to receive, Basic Food Program benefits (food stamps).
