Tips to make sure you are getting enough vitamins

  • Eat a balanced diet with a variety of foods.
  • Take a multivitamin with and at least 600 IU of Vitamin D3.
  • Certain medications such at birth control pills, may decrease your level of vitamins and minerals so take a multivitamin each day.
  • If you are between 19 and 50, you need 1,000mg of calcium each day.
  • Consume 400 micrograms (mcg) per day of synthetic folic acid (from fortified foods and/or supplements) in addition to food forms of folate such as leafy green vegetables (like spinach and turnip greens) citrus fruits and dried beans and peas.
