The Northwest Drinking Water Operations office is open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please direct all general  inquiries to our main line at (253) 395-6750. Staff are available to assist with most questions immediately. As necessary, other questions will be referred to the appropriate staff for response.

Regional Engineers

Regional Engineers are responsible for the implementation of the state's drinking water program in assigned counties. They conduct sanitary surveys and special purpose investigations of public water systems and promote needed water facility improvements. They also review and approve water system plans and specifications for system improvements and provide technical assistance to purveyors and local health departments upon request.

  • Coordinates Susceptibility and Pesticide Vulnerability Determinations and Waivers for Organic and Inorganic Chemical Monitoring
  • Conducts Water Quality Investigations
  • Provides technical assistance to utilities and local health departments for water quality sampling
  • Water Quality Monitoring Reports and Consumer Confidence Reports
  • Susceptibility Assessment

Coliform Program Manager

  • Oversee compliance with the Total Coliform Rule
  • Compile and interpret water quality results
  • Provide technical assistance to purveyors and the public regarding bacteriological water quality
